A Life for the Nation
Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo was the leader of the Zimbabwe African People's Union (ZAPU) and a key figure in the struggle against white minority rule. Known affectionately as "Father Zimbabwe," his life was a testament to the pursuit of justice and national reconciliation.
His vision extended beyond liberation; he sought a Zimbabwe where all citizens, regardless of ethnicity or background, could live in harmony. The marathon continues this walk—carrying his torch of peace across the plains he loved so dearly.
"Peace is not just the absence of war; it is the presence of justice, equity, and the dignity of all human beings."
