Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or participating in the Joshua Nkomo Peace Marathon ("the Event"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not register or participate.

2. Eligibility

• The 42.2KM and 21.1KM events are open to participants aged 18 and over on race day.
• The 18KM Differently Abled Race is open to participants aged 18 and over with a qualifying disability.
• The 10KM event is open to participants aged 16 and over.
• The 5KM Peace Fun Run is open to all ages; participants under 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
• All participants must be in good health and physically capable of completing their chosen distance.

3. Registration & Fees

Registration is completed through our official ticketing partner, Hypenation. Fees are non-refundable except in the event of race cancellation by the organisers. Entries are non-transferable without prior written consent from the organisers.

4. Medical & Health Disclaimer

Participants are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to compete. We strongly recommend a medical check-up before the event. The organisers, volunteers, and sponsors accept no liability for injury, illness, or death arising from participation. By registering, you confirm you are medically fit to participate.

5. Race Rules & Conduct

• Participants must wear their official race bib visibly at all times during the event.
• Headphones are permitted on the 10KM and 5KM routes but discouraged on the full and half marathon for safety.
• Participants must follow all instructions from race marshals and officials.
• Any form of unsportsmanlike conduct, harassment, or discrimination will result in immediate disqualification.
• The use of performance-enhancing substances is strictly prohibited.
• Participants must complete the course within the official cut-off times.

6. Cut-off Times

• 42.2KM Full Marathon: 6 hours from gun time
• 21.1KM Half Marathon: 3.5 hours from gun time
• 18KM Differently Abled Race: 4 hours from gun time
• 10KM City Run: 2 hours from gun time
• 5KM Peace Fun Run: No cut-off — all finishers welcome

7. Event Cancellation

The organisers reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the event due to circumstances beyond their control (including but not limited to severe weather, public safety concerns, or government directives). In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified and offered a deferred entry or partial refund at the organisers' discretion.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website including text, images, logos, and design is the property of the Joshua Nkomo Peace Marathon and may not be reproduced without written permission.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zimbabwe.
